General FAQ
So do you make these PCBs yourself?
Why yes I do. Each and every one is hand etched, drilled and inspected by me so you can be assured you will receive a quality board. ![]()
Also there is nothing like building a Hand Made Pedal with a Hand Etched board is there?
Are these Circuit Boards Clones?
Absolutely Not!
As a matter of fact I have a team of Engineers, Designers and Legal Team who not only design for me Artistically Unique Board Layouts but we also make sure that whenever a project may be similar to a known circuit it has been somehow modified from its original version in a meaningful way not just to make it different by changing a simple value but in our opinion making the project better. This is what I believe sets us apart from the rest.
Thanks to our Very Knowledgable Team these circuits can be examined and mods, enhancements as well as deletions or additons can be implemented quite easily using skills, math, trials and shared ideas and opinions.
"We let a few friends play a completed build of each circuit, and they told us it may or may not have sounded similar to any particular pedal. But in almost all cases the differences were noticable. That being said if you want an original pedal, the only way to get one is to buy an original."
We are in no way affiliated with or should be compared with any commercially available pedal.
Lastly we do not sell Pedals only Circuit Boards and these Circuit Boards are for Education and Personal use only! It would be not only incorrect but irresponsible to claim any project available as a clone or copy including the use of any Brand Name or Trademark.
Anyone discovered selling constructed Pedals under such conditions as described above will not be tolertated and banned from the site immediately.
Are these Circuit Projects Legal?
1. Circuits themselves are not copyrighted.
2. Names, logos and artwork (including PCB layouts) can be trademarked and copyrighted.
3. Circuits can be patented, although the vast majority of guitar effects do not utilize patented circuits.
4. It is completely legal to build your own versions of any of these circuits for personal use.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GuitarPCB.com along with our Expert Team spends many weeks or months examining all projects thoroughly and begins by first creating a Unique Artistic Layout for every project board we sell but also with my excellent team of Engineers we proceed to modify and create a sonically and electronically unique circuit as well which we believe improves the circuit.
There are a Multitude of ways in which this is done and these are some examples of things we look for in a project and a multitude of ways in which include removing useless components, changing Tonal Characteristics as well as Clipping Characteristics, increasing or decreasing available Treble or Bass Response, adding, removing or replacing a buffer with a better one and on and on.
Due to High Demand Orders received may take 3-7 Business Days to ship!
Confirmations will be sent only when your order is ready to ship!
Custom Boards may take 6 - 10 Business Days to ship. (2) order minimum per Design.
Packages will be mailed from the USA. First Class Only.
Paypal is your receipt and you will not receive a confirmation till your package is Prepared!
1. International Shipping Policy.
All Packages will be prepared for shipment within the normal 3 - 7 Business Day Window depending on Sales etc... Only then will you receive a Shippng Confirmation.
In regards to International shipping please note that while I may prepare a package for shipment and mark it shipped which then generates an email to you it may still not be shipped for 3 to 5 more days.
(I drive to the Post Office to Mail International Packages once per week.)
International Shipping is normally 7-9 business days from the actual shipping date (as described above) anywhere in the world, however 1 out of 5 packages are being held up in Customs anywhere between the US Post Office and the Destination Country. This process seems to take anywhere from 3 - 5 weeks. I have Confirmation from Many Members that this is due to a lack of Help or Cutbacks in the Customs Department likely due to the Global Economy. Not to mention Electronics may also be a Red Flag sometimes.
2a. I can access a Customs Label through my Post Office, but this is not any means of Tracking whatsoever. It just lets me know that you received your package after it has been deliveered and nothing in between.
There is No Tracking Available for International Shipping short of buying full Priority Mail. This does not include Flat Rate Priority. So Rates for Priority Mail in order to get Tracking would start at around $18 and up just for shipping costs. Therefore 1st Class is the only monetarily feasible method.
2b. Always Contact Me first through my site using the Contact Me Link in the Menu Bar.
2c. Obviously I have no control over shipping once it has left my hands.
2d. If anyone files a Paypal Dispute without contacting me first they will be Deleted as a Member as soon as I email the build Docs for the project ordered.
2e. On the Rare Occasion a package is lost I will replace it. But I require 6 week wait time (from shipping date) first since this is very, very rare.
2f. I am attempting to make my International Mail appear more personal and less business like without the use of rubber stamps, logos etc...in hopes that this will help. It seems that Electronics can generate a Red Flag in Customs so hopefully this will help.
2g. If you do not agree to these rules then please do not purchase from me.
Please note that in my 11+ Year Paypal History and the nearly 3 year History of GuitarPCB I have only ever had 6 International Packages take over 5 weeks which still arrived and only 3 Lost packages which I promptly replaced for the buyers. I also have an 11 Year eBay History with 100% Positive feedback. Add to that I have 6 full Pages of Testimonials from Worldwide Members here: Testimonials Page
