Disclaimer A1: GuitarPCB makes no promises or guarantees that you will successfully complete your pedal in a satisfactory manner. GuitarPCB does not promise or guarantee that any technical support you may receive will be able to resolve any or all issues you may be experiencing. As should be expected there are no refunds or exchanges.

Disclaimer A2: If you have a build issue a proper troubleshoot post is required to be able to help which must include clear pictures showing both sides of the board and wiring, Voltage readings of all Transistors and IC Chips and a description of the problem and all steps taken to solve it. The Crash Course link on the main page shows you how to do all of this. We are willing to help as much as you are willing to help us and yourself.

Disclosure A3: Our circuits are never represented to be a "clone" of any circuit and it is against GuitarPCB policy to directly misrepresent in any way to any other pedal commercial or otherwise. Simply put we modify all circuits to be different than any circuit it may be based on by incorporating scaling, modifications and much more which we feel makes for a better overall circuit.

Discloure A4: Each and every project has been gone over and verified to be a Unique Design by my Engineer, Design and Legal Team who specialize in pedal circuitry specifically. They are all 100% verified. The word "clone" may never be used in our forum since none of the circuts provided by GuitarPCB are clones. In fact many companies worldwide specialize in cloning which can easily be found using a search bar.

General FAQ

  1. Are these Circuit Boards Clones?

    Absolutely Not!

As a matter of fact I have a team of Engineers, Designers and Legal Team who not only design for me Artistically Unique Board Layouts but we also make sure that whenever a project may be similar to a known circuit it has been somehow modified from its original version in a meaningful way not just to make it different by changing a simple value but in our opinion making the project better. This is what I believe sets us apart from the rest.

Thanks to our Very Knowledgable Team these circuits can be examined and mods, enhancements as well as deletions or additons can be implemented quite easily using skills, math, trials and shared ideas and opinions.

"We let a few friends play a completed build of each circuit, and they told us it may or may not have sounded similar to any particular pedal. But in almost all cases the differences were noticable. That being said if you want an original  pedal, the only way to get one is to buy an original."

We are in no way affiliated with or should be compared with any commercially available pedal.

Lastly we do not sell Pedals only Circuit Boards and these Circuit Boards are for Education and Personal use only! It would be not only incorrect but irresponsible to claim any project available as a clone or copy including the use of any Brand Name or Trademark.

Anyone discovered selling constructed Pedals under such conditions as described above will not be tolertated and banned from the site immediately.

  2. Are these Circuit Projects Legal?

    1. Circuits themselves are not copyrighted.

    2. Names, logos and artwork (including PCB layouts) can be trademarked and copyrighted.

    3. Circuits can be patented, although the vast majority of guitar effects do not utilize patented circuits.

    4. It is completely legal to build your own versions of any of these circuits for personal use.

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GuitarPCB.com along with our Expert Team spends many weeks or months examining all projects thoroughly and begins by first creating a Unique Artistic Layout for every project board we sell but also with my excellent team of Engineers we proceed to modify and create a sonically and electronically unique circuit as well which we believe improves the circuit.

There are a Multitude of ways in which this is done and these are some examples of things we look for in a project and a multitude of ways in which include removing useless components, changing Tonal Characteristics as well as Clipping Characteristics, increasing or decreasing available Treble or Bass Response, adding, removing or replacing a buffer with a better one and on and on.
