This is based on the classic Colorsound "Fuzz Box" of the 60's with a huge influence on both 60's and 70's Fuzz tones. Unique to our version designed by Bruce R. is a tweaked resistor to stabilize any Fuzz issues as well as the addition of A/B pads at the output for further modification if you so desire. Finally each board contains Pads for the direct mounting of a potentiometer directly on the board for an easy build.

Those who know the history or have played one before know that while it may have been a One-Trick pony it sure was a Sonic Eargasm of Fuzz Tone. In the style of GuitarPCB in an effort to add options or enhancements  A / B pads are included at the output for mods that will be listed in the Layout Gallery.

History: A One-Knob Fuzz  is made to simply sound good. The Colorsound Fuzz Box was surprisingly versatile, using your guitar's controls. This silicon fuzz was the original design of Engineer/Guru Dick Denney. Like other Colorsound pedals it has a 70's tone even though it came to be in the 60's. Sometimes all you need is One Knob to get it right.

Build Document

A must have Fuzz Circuit for an Fuzz Fan's collection!

While the original calls for a combination of BC108 and BC109, we have found that a 2N5089 - 2N5088 combo works very well and other Transistors can also be considered.

We recommend a socket and see approach and experiment.

For example you may wish to try 2N5089,2N5088, 2N4401, 2N3904 or 2N222.

Dimensions - 1.20" by 1.08"

While this will fit into a 1590A  we recommend a 1590B.
