I have a mac pro with studio logic but the video card went out right after the warranty ran out . I had cubase on my pc but it crashed and I lost all my recording programs on it So I've been downgraded to my trusty old marantz tape recorder and Shure Sm57 mic for now. Thanks for the info and great videos.

Yeah rosewood definitely thickens up the tone. I have fender with rosewood neck with fender 69 pickups. the 69's are very bright so it balances out. I had some area 69 pickups but they weren't bright enough for the rosewood neck. I never thought neck wood would change the tone so much but it does. Are you using a mic to record your video sound? Because the video sounds very good.

I just started using a condensor mic and recording the audio through my recording program on my mac. I think this is the first clip that I was able to get it to work. My KOTB pedal clone video also was recorded into the same program. The recording program is Cubase and the Audio interface I use is the Motu MKII, however any USB mic would probably work if you didnt have an audio interface. Thanks again for the encouragement.

Great job! How do you like that legacy strat I've never played one. It sounds great on the video. Maybe one of these days I will come out of the dark ages and get a video camera.

Hey dude, I actually didnt really like the Tone of that Legacy, it had humbucking pickups in every position and the Neck being rosewood, was not as bright and snappy as a conventional maple neck/single coil strat. I actually made this video to help me sell this guitar, and I actually did some time after. I now play through an American Standard Strat with Dimarzio Area pickups and I love it!! The G&L required constant tweaking of my eq to get it to sound strat-like whereas the strat is a no-brainer (it sounds like itself). Thanks, and yeah man get that camera going and throw on a vid when you can.

You've got a really good technique, really well practiced, I don't think I heard a dud note at all! Mind you a dud note never hurt anybody when it's the blues... or at least that's what I tell myself!

Thanks dude! I hide my duds well, because I can definately say I dropped a few, but overall Im pleased with it. I tried to play off of the chords for the solo, for example when the A#minor, G#7, and F#7 chords came by in a descending fashion, I used the A#minor pentatonic, G#, and F# respectively. Also SRV played this with all his strings a half step down, I didnt want to mess with tuning so the original recording will be quite different in terms of positioning, tone and well SRV is SRV.

that was fantastic T-diddy! I really enjoyed hearing you pull that off. And you definitely did! I hope you post another vid when you build the KOTB. I'll be sure to check it out. Great job!

Thanks dude. I will be focusing all my attention soon on getting the KOTB clone done. I ordered parts through a company known as futurlec and who knew it would take forever to get parts from China! I guess I'll just have to be patient, congrats on your new solder station, looks real nice.

around 2:50 starts the solo. I had a lovepedal purple plexi at the time which I used for this solo. Im hoping the KOTB clone will give me a similar lead tone (sold the plexi to fund more gear). I will definately post a video demo when it is completed.
